Our police, firefighters and EMTs are crucial to maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities. As first responders, they put their lives on the line every day. Now more than ever, it is important for businesses and individuals to recognize the importance of these brave men and women to our communities.

When I think of first responders, I am reminded of a quote by Fred Rogers, the beloved host of the children’s television show, “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood”.

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." To this day, especially in times of "disaster," I remember my mother's words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world."

At Korman Residential Properties, we recognize the importance of giving back to our first responders. We believe that in these uncertain economic times, businesses have a civic responsibility to ensure that our first responders have the resources they need to do their jobs. By forging public-private partnerships with our local police and fire departments, we can help bridge budgetary gaps and help them to help our communities.

It is our goal to do our part to help make first responders’ jobs a little bit easier. When a Bucks County fire department’s roof saw broke, Korman stepped in and purchased a new one. When the Philadelphia Police Department needed protective gear and patrol bicycles, Korman stepped up and donated them. Korman also recognizes how important it is for local police to be seen as the “good guys”, so we proudly support the 12th District’s Community Day. This festive children’s event helps build bonds and strengthen relationships between Philadelphia’s 12th District police and the community. It is our hope that these efforts will continue to make a positive impact upon our first responders and in our communities.
