The Season of Giving
The Season of GivingPosted by Korman Res | The Season of Giving
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
- Winston Churchill
Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, the holiday season is a perfect time to give to those less fortunate. Donating money, toys, food, clothing, or even just your time to a charity can mean the world to someone. You’ll feel great knowing that you’ve made a difference in someone’s life, so why not start the new year in the spirit of giving?
All of our communities are accepting donations to charities this holiday season, so we’ve made it easier than ever for our residents and neighbors to get involved. The following is a list of charities we are working with and the locations where we are accepting donations:
Wordsworth is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides a continuum of education, behavioral health treatment and child welfare services to children, adolescents and families. We are accepting new, unwrapped toys in the leasing offices of the following communities: Korman Residential at The Woods (Ambler, PA), Korman Residential at Cherrywood (Clementon, NJ), Korman Residential at International City Mews and Villas (Philadelphia, PA), and Korman Residential at International City Chalets (Philadelphia, PA).
ElderNet helps older and disabled adults to remain living independently and safely in their homes by providing free, practical, volunteer, and social work services in Lower Merion and Narberth. We are accepting food donations of canned goods and non-perishable items in the leasing office of Korman Residential at Casa Del Sol (Haverford, PA).
Metropolitan Ministries assists poor and homeless families living in the Tampa, FL area through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity, and instill self-sufficiency. We are accepting donations of food and toys in the leasing office of Korman Residential at River Chase (Temple Terrace, FL).
Masons Covenant Lodge #161 and the Women’s Auxiliary
The Masons and the Women’s Auxiliary have a long history of charitable work in their communities. This year, we are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys for local, less fortunate children in the leasing office of Korman Residential at Willow Shores (Palmyra, NJ).
Toys for Tots
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. We are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys in the leasing offices of Korman Residential at Cherrywood (Clementon, NJ), Korman Residential at Rushwood (Philadelphia, PA), Korman Residential at Brandywine Woods (Bear, DE), and Korman Residential at Christina Mill (Newark, DE).
Sunday Breakfast Mission
Sunday Breakfast Mission assists the homeless, addicted and impoverished by providing meals, clothing, shelter, and substance abuse counseling. We are accepting donations of clothes and non-perishiable food items in the leasing office of Korman Residential at Brandywine Hundred (Wilmington, DE).
